Berry, Berry Tall

Tonight Sophia and Cory decided to "make a house". Sophia loves to play with blocks and frankly, so do Cory and I. As they were building, Sophia said, "Look Momma, it is berry, berry tall!". That is the first time I can remember that she has used adjectives like that to describe something. Her speech is getting clearer and clearer. It is amazing.

Fun day at the Zoo

Sunday was Eon's day at the Zoo. So, Cory, Mimi, Pardie, Sophia, and I packed up and headed out to the zoo. First on the agenda was the food tent. As usual, Sophia didn't eat much. She did enjoy the chocolate chip cookie though.

After lunch Sophia was getting restless so we headed to the inflatable jumpers. At first Sophia wasn't sure exactly what to do but she got the hang of it and loved it.

There was popcorn and snow cones. I really wanted her to have a snow cone but didn't want the mess of one, so Mimi suggested that we let her have a plain one. What a great idea! Sophia loved it. Anything to get her to stay in her stroller.
We went to the reptile house for the first time. She really seemed to love the snakes. Gross.
Then it was off to the train. She enjoyed the ride with Mimi and Pardie a lot.
We headed over to the carousel. It is great to be able to do those things every once in a while. We usually don't do them because they cost extra.
We saw a few of the animals on the way to the water park. Sophia wasn't sure what to do at first. The last time she was there, she and Libby could barely stand. She got into it after a while and didn't even mind the water in her face.
By the time we got to the car, she was out. Thanks for a great time Pardie!

Day Off

Today I had the day off. It was great to spend a day with Sophia after I was gone for several days for a business trip. We did all sorts of fun things.

Sophia loves cereal and would eat it for every meal if we let her. This morning was no exception. She requested cereal and enjoyed eating it while watching Little Einsteins.

Then Sophia made me some breakfast and sampled it herself.

She wanted to take some pictures, so I let her use the camera. There were a lot of pictures of the ceiling and especially the fan. I picked two of her better pictures.

I just had to get a couple of pictures of her with her first set of ponytails. Is she the cutest or what???

Then we went to Daddy's work and took him out for lunch. We went to a mexican restaraunt. Sophia had her "mexican cheeseburger" but enjoyed the salsa and chips. She has been watching a lot of Dora lately and has embraced the word "delicioso". We were getting a big kick out of her saying it over and over again.

Then we went back home for naptime. On the way home, I gave Sophia some Dora stickers and she decorated herself with them. They were all up and down both legs, on the bottoms of her feet, her hands, and her face. I could only get a couple of pictures before she peeled them off. I had a couple of ideas for things that we could do when she got up, but she took a 4 hour nap!!! Good grief little girl. I guess she must be growing.

After dinner we went on a wagon ride. She enjoyed it a lot. We will have to do that more often.

The perfect way to end the evening....a sucker and some more Dora. We had a great day together. I wish we could spend every day together.

Notice Chloe always waiting for Sophia to drop something.

Naptime

Sophia's new favorite game is hiding from us. All it involves is her on her changing pad, in her bed, or on our bed with a blanket or towel over her. We have to pretend to not see her and try and find her. She loves it. She always says, "Again, again". Well, today I laid her down for her nap. I guess she was trying to play hide from momma. I am not sure. This is what I found when I went in to check on her.

You can't even see her. Did she escape?

Proof she was here

Where's Sophie? At this point I thought she was still awake and just hiding from me. I was a little irritated.

I guess the poor girl fell asleep waiting for me to come and find her. It's so sad. I bet you can relate can't you, Juju?

Ponytail

Angie's post inspired me to see if I could get Sophia's hair into a big girl ponytail. It worked! Well, kindof. I think Libby's hair might be a little bit longer than Sophia's. But she still looked adorable. It really brought home just how old she has gotten. She isn't my little baby anymore. Today is her 23 month "birthday". I think this will probably be the last time that I think of her in months instead of years. Oh, so sad. But I am really looking forward to all the cool big girl memories to come.

First swim of the season

After dinner, we decided to get into the pool for a few minutes. Sophia wasn't sure of it at first, but warmed up to the idea after a few minutes. As always, her favorite place in the pool was the steps. She went up and down the steps and even jumped to me a few times. We are looking forward to many more fun times in the pool.

Cutting Grass

This evening, after dinner, Cory went out to cut the grass. Sophia now wants to do everything Daddy does, so she had to cut grass too. Mimi gave us a little lawn mower for Sophia, so we headed outside. I know she is not in the most conventional outfit to cut grass, but I fully expected her to get outside, hear how loud the mower is, and then get scared and want to go inside. I was wrong. She was very interested. She did soon discover that mowing grass, even with a play mower, is not as easy or as fun as it looks when someone else is doing it. We eventually moved to the deck to finish mowing.

Diaper, crocs, and a mower....what more do you need?
Quite possibly the world's cutest picture

Happy Pardie's Day!

Since I am going to be out of town on Father's Day, we decided to celebrate Pardie's Day on Friday. We took Pardie to Olive Garden. For some reason Sophia decided she wanted to try olives. She ate 3 olives one right after eachother and then wanted more. What a strange little girl. What almost 2 year old likes olives? Crazy kid.
Sophia loved seeing her Pardie and then spending time with Pancho as well. Whenever she gets in trouble now or isn't able to do something she wants to do, she askes for 1. Mimi, 2. Pardie, 3. Pancho. I guess she thinks they are going to bail her out. She's probably right.
