Hubers

Today was a perfect fall day to be outside. Accent (where Cory works) had it's annual day at Hubers. We went and had lunch then to the petting zoo with some of the other kids of Accent employees. We had a wonderful time. It was much different than last year. Last year we were here for a week trying to find a house and Sophia was only 2 months old. Not really old enough to enjoy the petting zoo. We ended the day with some Huber Bucks (thanks Accent) which we spent at the Farmer's Market.

Last Day

We had a wonderful last day. We spend some relaxing time at the beach and then went out to eat as a big family. It was a wonderful vacation. Thanks Mom for allowing us to all vacation together.

The Dolphins

Evening Cruise

We decided to go on a sunset cruise around the Outer Banks. It was a lot of fun. We even got to see Andy Griffith's house. I saw a few houses I wouldn't mind living in either. We got lucky after about 1/2 hour and saw several dolphins. They were so close we could have pet them. They were so beautiful. There was even a baby one.

Rainy Day

On Thursday it was rainy so we decided to go out to eat with Uncle "Bertie" and Aunt Julia. We had delicious Carolina BBQ. I love that BBQ. Then we went to build a bear. It took me forever to decide on what we were going to build and then even longer to decide on the clothes. I don't even have a picture of the finished product. We made a gray elephant who wore a red t-shirt and a denim mini skirt. She is so cute. Of course, Sophia was more interested in coloring and trying to escape out the door. We had a lot of fun though.

Wild Horses

Cory, Dad, and I decided to go on a tour along the Outer Banks in a vintage Land Cruiser to see the wild horses. You got to drive your own Land Cruiser through the sand up and down the beach and around the dunes. There was a guide in the front of the caravan in his own Land Cruiser. Both Cory and I took turns driving. It was a lot of fun but a little nerve wracking.
The wild horses are only found in this area. They are thought to have come from the Spanish settlers in the 1500s. They are kind of their own breed now decended from Spanish Mustangs. The are so beautiful. Here are just a few pictures of our trip.

Fun at the Beach

On Monday, we took Sophia to the beach. She had a great time. She wasn't scared of the water at all. She loved playing in the sand.

Later in the week the whole family went to the beach. Sophia had a great time. Uncle Gilbert had fun fishing. He caught a huge crop of seaweed but no fish on this day.

Fun with Daddy

What's better than a movie and popcorn? Well, a book and some blueberry puffs of course. I just had to get a picture of this. They are so cute together.

After a couple months of Sophia hating to get her picture taken, the ham is back. Now she wants you to take a picture of her and then she immediately wants to see it. She thinks that is so funny. I had to include some of the smiles from yesterday.
