Growing Up

Over the past few days Sophia has developed some interesting preferences and new talents. And I actually caught them on film.
1. She has become quite the fashionista. I picked out this outfit, but she picked the shoes. You shake your head and say to yourself, "How can a 13 month old pick out her shoes? Like she really has a preference. And if so, how would you know?" Oh, my friends, you just don't know her well enough. I put on this outfit and was then going through her shoes to figure out which ones fit and which didn't. I came upon this cute pair from Aunt Julia (bought before Sophia was even born). Sophia grabbed them. So, I decided it would be a good time to see if she could wear size 4 yet. They were a little too big so I took them off. Sophia cried, screamed, and threw herself on the floor. I put the shoes back on....and well, the picture below is the result.

Like I said....she picked out the shoes.

2. She will give you a back rub. Now it starts out gentle and gets rough. Well actually, quite rough. But she is trying.3. She loves to try on your shoes. I don't know why. She nearly kills herself every time. But, she loves it. I just have to make sure I am around when she starts to tumble. Here is how silly she looks.

Yeah, I know.....I have big feet.

4.
Oh, wait. That isn't new. That's just funny!

Queen of the Mountain

Sophia learned a new trick while at Grammie's house. Don't worry though. No children were injured during the making of this movie.

Sunday Photos

On Sunday morning we got up and got ready for church. Can you believe we were ready early? We decided to take some pictures. This is the view outside the little apartment that Julie, Sophia, and I stayed.

Birthday Cake

Sophia has finally gotten into birthday cake. It has only taken 4 birthday parties and a photo shoot to get her there. She finally broke into cake after dinner at Grammie's house.

A hair shot. Can you see all the cake?

Surprise Birthday Dinner

This past weekend, Sophia, Julia, and I flew to Philadelphia to surprise my Grammie for her 85th birthday. We had a great weekend. The look on Grammie's face when we showed up at the door was priceless. She was so surprised.
For her birthday, some of the cousins and her brother and sister-in-law met for dinner. It was a great time.

Little Walmart Super Shopper

Today, at Walmart, I got Sophia a little surprise. Here she is trying it out. It is hard to see her face because she kept hunching down.

(Check out the basket Mr. Gary and Ms. Angie. She loved her dog/purse.)

Texas

Okay, Okay. It has been a while since my last post. So, I am just going to sum up our trip to Texas in one blog entry. For a more detailed description of our vacation, you can visit my sister's blog (The Aguilars). We had a great time. It was awesome to spend my 30th birthday with Julia and Gilberto. They were the perfect hosts.

Sophia at the airport in her jammies pushing her baby, Eden, in her stroller.

Sophia loves her Aunt Julia (pronounced Who-lee-ah) and Uncle Bertie. She was giving out hugs and enjoying dancing while we were waiting for our table at The Salt Lick. The Salt Lick is a great restaraunt serving smoked ribs, turkey, chicken, and sausage. It is supposed to be some of the best Texas BBQ. Cory certainly enjoyed it.

On Friday, Julia treated me to a morning of shopping at Nordstroms and then a facial, massage, and chemical peel at the spa. It was wonderful. For dinner we headed to a great italian restaraunt. These are some silly family portraits.

On Saturday, we went to the park with some of Julia and Gilbert's friends. Sophia spotted herself a boy right away. She loves boys. She loved to swing and go down the slide. We took the little train ride around the park which was a lot of fun.

I just had to enclose this picture because it is classic Sophia. Don't believe me? Check this out!
Just minutes old. (Told ya!)

Sophia at the airport. She loves to walk around with her baby, Eden. But, Eden must be wrapped up in a blanket. She just keeps bringing him back to you to rewrap. She was even going up to strangers in the airport trying to get them to wrap up her baby. She is so crazy.
