Christmas Day

On Christmas morning, Sophia slept in until 8:30. I was up at 7 so excited to see what she would think of Christmas and presents. After she opened about 2 presents, she was done. I asked her if she wanted to open more and she just said, "No". It took a lot of breaks and prodding but she did eventually open everything. She loved her table and chair set, her toy cars, and her baby bottles. She was so cute.

Poor child hardly had any presents.

Enjoying her table.

It's so hard being a new mommy. Those babies are always so thirsty.

Lately Sophia has developed an extreme love for Elmo. Her newest phrase is "Watch it. Watch Elmo". She says it all the time. We made a last minute run to Walmart on Christmas Eve to get a Tickle Me Elmo. She loved it but I can already tell it is going to get on my nerves.

Check out our Mommy and Tot matching socks from Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Ken. I love them. They are so cute.

After opening presents at our house, we journeyed the 5 minutes to my Mom and Dad's house. She got a cool retro pink kitchen. I was so excited about it. I can't wait to play with her in her new kitchen. She also got her first Cabbage Patch Kid but was more interested in reading the free pamplet about Cabbage Patch Kids than in playing with her. After presents we had a wonderful brunch. Then Sophia got a bath and she and MiMi were off to Florida. They will come back on Friday. I know the relatives will be so excited to see her. She is the only great grandchild and then next youngest grandchild to her is 26.
How cool is this kitchen? I just love it!!
Reading about Cabbage Patch Kids
Santa brought the growups pears in their stockings. Sophia decided she liked pears and ate 1 1/2 of them. What a strange girl.

Christmas Eve

We spend Christmas Eve morning with Cory's family. We met at his sister's house and had breakfast and then exchanged Christmas presents. Sophia had a lot of fun. She got keys, a phone, 2 laptops, a bear, an Ariel doll, playdough, and a Dressy Bessie. She is an expert present opener.

What is she doing?

After every small piece of paper she would pull off, she would hand it to the nearest adult around. She would not continue unwrapping until she had handed it off. Here she is handing it off to Cory's Dad. Unfortunately, he did not make the picture.
One of the things that Shane asked for was a Nerf dart tag game. It was the hit of the morning. Here Shane and Brianna play. In the second picture if you look close, you can see the darts bouncing off Shane still in midair. If I would have known how much Cory would like it, I would have gotten him one too.
After presents we went to church which Sophia slept all the way through. Then we met my parents at my MeMe's house (french for grandmother). Sophia was quite the ham...as always and loved passing out presents. She would rather give presents than recieve them. She is getting a cool sled from MeMe. It is on it's way.

Finally....

Well, it's been a while. Halloween came and went, we went to Gatlinburg for the weekend, I started back work, we went to Austin, TX for Thanksgiving, and we are furiously shopping for last minute Christmas gifts. That pretty much catches you up. I've got several pictures I wanted to share. Sophia is doing so many new things now. It is amazing to see her brain work. Her vocabulary has really grown. The other day we were in the car and I heard, "Momma, it's stuck". What??? She was referring to her sippy cup that was stuck under her arm in her carseat. Crazy. She is growing up so fast. She loves books. I have memorized most of her favorites. She thinks that is funny. One night we read "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" so many times in a row (I lost count after 5) that I could do the last few pages from memory. So, here's a few pictures of her.

This is as close as Sophia would get to Santa.
These pics were this past weekend. My mom kept Sophia and said that on Saturday morning Sophia got her phone and was "calling" me. Complete with "Hello Momma", jabber, and then "Bye-Bye". I sure wish I could have heard it. It looks like she was quite busy in the kitchen while she was talking.

Now you are caught up. Hopefully I can keep up.

Halloween Zoo Party

On Sunday we went to the zoo for their Halloween party with Kevin, Shannon, Allie, J.P., Jill, Kayla, Gary, Angie, and Libby Grace. I don't know how much the little girls got out of it, but it was a beautiful day and they enjoyed their candy. Sophia enjoyed a Tootsie Roll (which she loved) and then had her first lollipop. She had grape lollipop juice everywhere. In her hair, her forehead, hands, cheeks, mouth, arms........ It was a mess but she loved it. Afterwards we went out to eat at a great restaurant that Shannon recommended. Cory had a religious experience with his cheeseburger which he is still talking about. I am sure we will return on a Monday when they are only $2. Thanks everyone for a great time!

Reunion

Julia and Gilberto are in town for her 10 year reunion. Tonight they got all dressed up and headed to the Culbertson Mansion. I decided it was similar to the prom and so they needed their picture taken. They looked great. I hope they have a wonderful time.

I had to include this next picture. For those of you that don't know, my sister has a little thing for shoes. She has well over 100 pairs. It is crazy. For her reunion she decided to go all out and buy the most expensive pair ever. That is saying something too. So, I thought they should be mentioned on the blog. They are pretty. I'll give her that.
