Sophia

While waiting for our seats at Cracker Barrel, Sophia tried out the rocking chairs. She was so impressed with herself when she figured out how to rock. She posed for some pictures though. She looked really cute in her little ballerina outfit.

Helicopter Ride

Julie met a man on the flight here that owns a helicopter business in Sellersburg who invited us to come and fly in one of his helicopters. It was so great. I have never been in a helicopter before. Julie is scared of heights and I was so proud of her for going through with it.

Fun with MiMi

Sophia has so much fun with her MiMi. They play, laugh, and just love hanging out with eachother. I just had to snap a couple pictures of the tow of them in action.

Picking Flowers

On Saturday morning, we took Sophia outside to look at the flowers. She loved them. It was so cute. She even picked her first one. She was so proud of herself. She is so funny. Her personality has really come out over the last few weeks. Whenever she is really proud of herself for doing something, she does a little dance.

The flower is a little mangled, but I just had to get a picture of it

She loves that flower!!

A visit from Auntie Jessica

Graduation Day

Can you believe it? Sophia had her first graduation. Today was graduation from swim class. I will miss it because Sophia seemed to have so much fun. I hope she will have fun in the pool this summer. I know I will. I hope all her little friends will come over too. Thanks to everyone for making swim lessons so much fun. Thanks to Uncle Ken and Aunt Cheryl for such a wonderful idea.
The kids are supposed to be learning how to blow bubbles, but Sophia just drinks the water. Here is her laughing at Momma blowing bubbles.

At this point in the swim lessons, the bigger kids are supposed to jump off the wall into Mom or Dad's arms and the smaller kids are supposed to reach for Mom or Dad. Sophia loves to clap and gets excited during the singing but is usually the last to jump in. You may wonder why. Is it because she is scared? No. Is it because she doesn't like the water. No. It is because on the other side of the pool are the parents taking pictures of their children jumping in and she is posing because she thinks they are all taking pictures of her. Where did this child come from?

She just loves the water.

In a pool full of toys, best friends, Libby and Sophia, must go for the same toy.

8 Months Old

March 11, 2007
Yes, I know. It has been a while. Sophia is growing and changing. She is walking around everywhere. I think the technical word is "cruising" because she is holding onto furniture or walls as she walks but man, she really moves. It seems like you, as a parent, are so excited to see them make milestones, but then a little sad too. I can't believe how fast she is growing! I am not looking forward to her walking. I don't think I am ready for it. But it is coming whether I am ready or not. This month I have noticed that she has really lost the baby look and is looking more and more like a little girl. She has really become a Daddy's girl. She loves to play with Daddy, mimic Daddy, and sleep with Daddy. I always thought I would be jealous if she ended up being Daddy's baby, but I'm not. They are so cute together and so head over heels in love with eachother, that it just makes me so happy. I can't wait to see what the next months will bring.

Doesn't she look so sweet? She was watching the kids across the street play. She'll be joining them soon.

Saturday Fun

Here's the video from this Saturday. She says, "MaMa", "PaPa", and "BaBa". She also shows her favorite activity which is throwing things on the floor and picking them up. I am just glad she doesn't want me to pick them up anymore.

Just Another Saturday

This Saturday began as most Saturdays do, with the dream of staying in bed longer than you are able to. But we had to get up and get ready for SWIM LESSONS!!! Sophia had another great time. She even went underwater! Babies have a reflex that if you blow at their face and mouth they will hold their breath and then you "dunk" them. I have to tell you, when the instructor was explaining this to me, I had some moments of panic. Scenes of me on the side of the pool giving Sophia mouth to mouth were just some of them. But, none of that happened. The reflex worked (just as the instructor said it would) and Sophia did great. Most of this lesson involved Sophia trying to drink as much pool water as possible. Jean Paul made the observation that she may be part terrier and I believe he may be right. Either way, she is adorable. Hopefully all that chlorine she ingested can help kill off some of her lingering cold virus. Who knows?
After swim lessons, Sophia and her Daddy settled in for a long nap. Two hours to be exact. How come she never does that for me? After she awoke from her nap, she let us know that she had learned a new "word". What was the word of the day? "PaPa". I have no idea where she got that from. Sometimes she says it when she looks at Cory, but mostly she just babbles it. So her words now consist of "BaBa", "MaMa", "PaPa', and "MmmBa". Don't know what the last one means, but I like it.
Here are some pictures from Saturday, the video is coming soon.

After I took the previous picture, I turned the camera off and Sophia started crying. That usually means she wants another picture taken. This is the result. What a ham!!
