Walking Along

For those of you that don't already know, Sophia is walking. She took her first steps by herself on Good Friday for her Great Grammie (Sophia). I was completely unprepared for this and had to go out and buy a baby gate and various other safety products. Boy, are they expensive. This isn't the best video but it gives you an idea what she does. Her favorite thing is to walk to me then to Cory then back to me. Over and over. She usually gets so tickled at herself after a couple of times that she ends up swerving and weaving like she has had a little too much to drink. She is so funny. (Thank you MiMi for the so cute outfit. We love it.)

Petting Zoo

Earth Day: Lorakeets

We love the Lorakeet Landing. I wasn't sure how Sophia would react to a bunch of birds flying around but she loved it. She laughed and clapped and tried to hold them. Daddy got to feed the birds this time. Maybe next time when it isn't so crowded Sophia can have a turn.

Yes, he has 3 birds on him

Earth Day

Today we took Sophia to the Zoo for the first time. We thought she would be good for about 1 1/2-2 hours, but we ended up staying almost 4 hours. I didn't think that at only 9 months she would care too much about the zoo, but she loved it. She was not at all scared of the animals and loved the petting zoo. I was so proud of how well she did. Of course she went through almost a whole container of puffs, but who's counting? I won't bore you with all the pictures, so here are just a few.

Uncle Ed & Aunt Gertrude

Okay, this post is a little out of order but I had to post it anyway. When we went to Philly to visit Grammie and Grandpop, we also visited Uncle Ed and Aunt Gertrude. We had a great visit. It was really good to see them again. Here is just one picture from our lunch together.

The Bubble

Today it was warm enough for Sophia to wear shorts but I decided it would be much funnier to put her in "The Bubble". I don't know the technical name for these outfits, but they are so cute. She looks like she is wearing a bubble. But as always, she is so cute.

Bubble-licious

Those cute little legs

Playing with Libby

On Friday Sophia and I went over to play with Libby and Angie. As always, we had so much fun. Angie, my photographer, took some cute pictures. Thanks Libby for letting Sophia borrow one of your too cute outfits. And I just can't get over your cute shoes Libby. Thanks for having us over girls. We had so much fun.

Playing Outside

Sophia loves to play outside. We get playclothes on and play in the dirt. She enjoys pulling the petals off the tulips and pulling up the grass. She, of course, puts all the leaves, petals, and dirt she can find into her mouth. She is just so curious. It is so neat to see spring through the eyes of a child who is seeing everything for the first time.

9 Months Old

Sophia has changed so much. She has such a wonderful, fun personality and is so curious about everything. For her 9 month "birthday" we had lunch with Daddy at the Comeback Inn in Jeffersonville. I just love that place. It is so good. Sophia even enjoyed some of the pasta.

Visit with Grammie & Grandpop: Photo Shoot

Of course there was a photo shoot when we got home from lunch. Here are just a few pictures. I couldn't weed any of them out. I love them all.

Visit with Grammie & Grandpop: Easter Sunday

On Easter morning we all went to church together. Grammie had such fun showing her off to all her friends that have heard so much about her namesake. After church we went to the dining hall in the retirement community that Grammie and Grandpop live in. The food was really good and Sophia had fun eating her first tastes of chocolate mousse.

Visit with Grammie & Grandpop: Uncle George and Aunt Ruth

On Friday evening Uncle George and Aunt Ruth came over for dinner. Sophia had a great time getting to know her Great, Great Aunt and Uncle. Funny Uncle George was a jokester as usual. Sophia thought he was so funny. It was so neat to see my child interacting with my Aunt and Uncle that I have such fond memories of.

Visit with Grammie & Grandpop: The Plane Ride

This Easter weekend we went to Grammie and Grandpop's house in Pennsylvania. For those of you that don't know, Sophia is named after her Great Grammie. It was a wonderful time. We got to visit with my Great Uncle George and Aunt Ruth, Great Uncle Ed and Aunt Gertrude, and Uncle George. There will be more pictures to follow. Here Sophia and her Daddy are cuddling on the plane and Sophia is playing with her spoon. This plane trip was a little more difficult than previous ones because Sophia is so much more active now.

Dirty Girl

Just having fun with my picture software. Thought others might think it was funny too. Eat your heart out Angie!!!

The Park: Dirt Don't Hurt

What a beautiful day on Sunday!!! We decided to take Sophia to the park for the first time. She wasn't that impressed with the swings but once again she did love the dirt. We walked around the big circle which she loved because she sat back, relaxed, and ate puffs. She went through almost 1/2 a container of puffs. That must be the life. It was a great family time.

I love grass and dirt!! Tasty!
Sticks are good too. Notice the dirt around her mouth.
There was such a wonderful breeze. Sophia's hair looks like it is getting ready to fly off.
Good example of what happens when she isn't allowed to eat any more dirt.

Fun with the Mannings

On Saturday, Cory, I, and Sophia went out to visit with Uncle Brandon, Aunt Tonja, Brianna, and Shane. Sophia loves hanging out with the kids and Brianna takes such good care of her. It was such a beautiful day that we spent some time on the porch just hanging out and Sophia spent time in the grass. We learned something new about Sophia. She LOVES dirt. Dirt, grass, sticks, it doesn't matter; it all tastes good to her. I am sure there are many if not all children that are the same, but it is still interesting to see when it is your child. The dirtier she is, the happier she is. We had great fun hanging out. It was good to spend time with family. We also learned another one of Sophia's many talents. Scroll down to see what it is.

The Cousins: Sophia, Brianna, and Shane

Sophia couldn't keep her eyes off Shane. Many pictures were taken but Sophia isn't looking at the camera in any of them. You know that is not like her. She just was mesmerized by Shane. He does look a lot like Cory.

The next Mia Hamm. Isn't she talented for 8 months?
