Easter Morning

Since we went to church on Saturday, Easter morning was a little more laid back. Sophia enjoyed her basket from the Easter Bunny. I don't think that the Easter Bunny realized how much he/she had gotten little Sophia until it was time to put it in the basket. I think her favorite thing was the cars. She loves playing with cars. Although it is nice to have your own Tigger and Pooh to play with.

Then we made some cupcakes to take over to Aunt Tonja's house. It was Sophia's first time helping and she did a great job. Not even a little shell in the batter. They were delicious.




Then we headed over to Aunt Tonja's house. She was so worn out from all the excitement that she took a little morning nap. I thought that she would also take her afternoon one since the morning nap was only 40 minutes, but no such luck.
Passed out

She loved the quacking duck from Aunt Tonja.

Maybe the lack of afternoon nap had something to do with her first taste of a ring pop. Nah...

Easter Dress

We were just able to get a few shots of the easter outfit before heading out to church. Sophia was not in the mood for pictures but warmed up towards the end of the photo session. I just love that dress. It reminds me of stuff that we wore when Julie and I were that age. I picked it up in Chicago on Julie and I's trip a couple weeks ago. I think Sophia looks wonderful and sweet. The barette only lasted until the car though.



Isn't this look priceless? I think she learned it from me. Not too happy about the pictures.

Chocolate Doughnut

Sophia loves chocolate. She can even say chocolate. She can also say, doughnut. Saturday morning I decided to allow her to have a chocolate doughnut. She loved it. She didn't get too much of the doughnut eaten but she sure did lick off the chocolate icing.

This picture showcases the chocolate face but I would also like you to observe the outfit. Those are her PJs, she picked out one of my necklaces, and her pink boots and wanted to wear that to the store. Sure, why not. She got a few looks, but hey, she's got her own sense of style. Aunt JuJu can relate, can't you?

Song and Dance

Sophia is becoming more and more like a little girl every day. Tonight before bed she was trying to wind herself up so she wouldn't fall asleep and was doing a song and dance routine. She is so funny. The routine was much longer, but you know how it is. You never have a camera when you need one.

Oh, don't mind the mess piled up at her closet door. I am in the middle of packing up clothes.

I Pee...I Pee...I Pee

Tonight while I was hanging up the curtains, Cory took Sophia to the bathroom for her bath. He got her undressed and asked her if she wanted to sit on the potty. She said yes and sat down. And then there was the sweet, sweet sound of liquid hitting plastic. He said he wanted to yell for me but thought she would stop midstream. When she was done she yelled to me, "I pee, I pee, I pee!". We all gave high fives. I was so proud. Baby steps. Baby steps. This may not happen again for a while. Good thing she is getting an Elmo goes Potty book for Easter.

The Curtains

I have been looking for curtains for Sophia's room for about a year on and off. I will find some that I really like and they will be about $70...a panel...and I need 4 panels. So, needless to say, I have kept looking. While we were out on Saturday, Mimi found the best fabric and we got together on Sunday to make them. Well, she did most of the labor, I helped. Mostly in a supervisory role. But I did hang them all by myself. I think that should count for something. I also can take credit for finding the jewel trim. I thought it was perfect for a little girls room. Every little girl needs some bling in their room, however small it may be. I think they turned out great. Thanks Mimi. I could have never done it without you.
